Zerowaste toilet cleaning

 Zerowaste toilet cleaning

This is not my sexiest blog post…but a very needed one : )

So let’s get down to business… We all use this sacred space where one is alone, quiet and somehow free. Some of us listen to music, others read magazines and of course, there are many who just do their business and leave.

But one question remains…

How does one clean the toilet without generating any waste?

Easy. Peasy. You need only 4 products-apple cider vinegar, baking soda, a sustainable toilet brush and a cloth.

What I do first is pour some apple cider vinegar into the toilet bowl and add some baking soda. Then I leave it for a few minutes. Afterwards I pour some vinegar and add a bit of baking soda on a piece of cloth and wipe the top, cover and all remaining surfaces. Then I wash the piece of cloth with a bit of cool water and wipe again. After I’m done with cleaning I handwash the piece of cloth with cool water and some Marseille soap. You might be wondering where I got the piece of cloth from, well, it’s an old upcycled towel that I cut into small pieces to use as different cleaning cloths.

Don’t forget about the toilet bowl.

The poured mixture of apple cider vinegar + baking soda is still waiting for me so I gotta get the #zerowaste toilet brush and start scrubbing. I’m in love with Redecker’s toilet brush, made of untreated beechwood and tampico fibre in Germany. Scrubbing takes less than a minute and leaves sparkling results. Once I’m done, I just flush the toilet and hang my toilet brush on its beautiful stand.

That wasn’t too hard, right?
