From a plastic to a stainless steel straw through Laura’s eyes

As part of our new initiative to introduce personal stories of people who decided to make the switch from a disposable to a reusable product, we introduce you to Laura.

She is an adventurous world traveler that has visited exotic countries such as India, New Zealand, Thailand and Costa Rica. As an experienced traveler and Zero-Waste supporter, Laura values the environment highly and has thought of plenty of small ways of how to show this support vividly. One of these ways is to choose a stainless steel straw over a plastic one.

Check out our small interview with Laura regarding this switch:

Vera: How did you come accross this product:

Laura: I first heard about it from a friend whom I met while staying at a vegan, zero-waste community in India. I had never seen a stainless steel straw before so I was a little unsure how effective it would be but I found the idea itself wonderful after seeing just how polluted parts of the world are and how much excessive plastic waste there is everywhere, it’s getting clearly out of control! Further into my travels I visited a cafe in Costa Rica where they actually served their Моjito with a stainless steel straw and I was very pleasantly surprised.

Vera: What did you think of your first encounter with the product?

Laura: I found it to be very clean and also made the drink itself taste colder from the steel retaining the initial cold temperature so not only can it contribute to helping the environment but it’s cleaner and has a positive effect on the drink temperature and overall taste.

Vera: Would you recommend the stainless steel straw to friends?

Laura: Of course, in fact, before I found out that you guys were distributing it in Europe I was regretting that I didn’t buy one from Costa Rica. Now I am very thrilled that such a great product is entering the European markets and I’m very thankful to your team for making this happen!
